Deliveries

Yes, we certainly do.  We will deliver your material on a rigid 7.5 tonne curtain sided truck.  We cover Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, East and West Sussex and Wiltshire.  Deliveries outside of these areas can be made on request.

If your order is coming direct from a manufacturer your delivery may arrive on an artic vehicle, therefore suitable access will be required on site, as well as mechanical offload.  Many manufacturers can deliver material on a rigid vehicle, with a moffet.  It is important you discuss your delivery requirements when placing your order with us.

Regardless of how your material is being delivered to you, if there is anything you feel the drivers should be aware of, in relation to the approach and / or access to your site, please do let us know when placing your order.

We offer delivery, Monday to Friday, in one of our rigid 7.5 tonne, curtain sided, trucks.  We do not offer a delivery service on a Saturday or Sunday.

Delivery charges are applied depending on where we are delivering too and how much material you have ordered. Delivery charges will be confirmed to you when placing your order.

Whilst we will confirm a delivery date for your material, we are unable to confirm a specific delivery time. To make it easier for you, our driver will be able to call you before they arrive. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please let us know when placing your order.

Every time a delivery is made someone will be asked to check and sign our delivery note for the materials. A copy of the delivery note will be left with you. Should no-one be around to take delivery of your order please do let us know and arrangements can be made, with your consent, to leave your materials somewhere appropriate.

A proof of delivery document, your delivery note, will be left with your materials when we deliver them. To request another copy of this information please email us @ accounts@honeyring.co.uk.

We do not offer an installation service; however, we do have links with local installers. If you would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact us via our Contact page.

U-Values

A U-Value is a measure of thermal transmittance, or the amount of heat energy that moves through a floor, wall or roof, from the warm (heated) side to the cold side. It is the number of Watts per square metre of the construction, per degree of temperature difference between one side and the other (W/m2K).

As a rule of thumb, the lower the U-Value the better, because the complete construction transmits less heat energy.

To calculate a U-Value you have to start with the R-Value or resistivity of the elements that make up the building element you are trying to calculate the U-Value for. The R-Value refers to a material’s ability to resist heat transfer at a certain thickness – the higher the better when looking for an insulation material. It is measured in m2.K/W. The R-Value is calculated as R = l/λ where l = the thickness of the material in metres and λ (lambda) is the thermal conductivity of the material in W/m.K.

So, for example, to work out the R-Value of 60mm of Kingspan Kooltherm K8 Cavity Board, which has a thermal conductivity or λ value of 0.021W/m.K:

R-Value = l/λ = 0.06/0.021 = 2.86 m2.K/W
